POSTPONED – Most computer users are used to graphical user interfaces (GUI) to run software using the keyboard and mouse, a touch screen, or speech recognition tools. Command line interfaces, on the other hand, use text to receive and process commands rather than images or menus. Although use of the command line was mostly replaced by Apple Macintosh or Microsoft Windows operating systems, there are still many uses that are more efficient than a GUI. This workshop will be an introduction to the command line, including how to navigate a file/folder system, several common commands, and a few basic scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks quickly.
