Gale Digital Scholar Lab

November 7, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Digital Matters is hosting a Gale Digital Scholar Lab training on Thursday, November 7 from 10 am -12 pm in Protospace. Digital Scholar Lab allows users to create content sets using Gale database content and then analyze those content sets with various out-of-the-box DH tools for text mining, topic modeling, name entity recognition, and sentiment analysis. Wendy Kurtz, a Gale Digital Humanities Specialist, will lead this session and do a walk-through of the platform focusing on 1-2 tools. Bringing your own laptop to follow along is encouraged.

We recommend this training if you are interested in experimenting with and familiarizing yourself with Digital Humanities methods or if you are considering employing DH methods in the classroom.  Digital Scholar Lab has a low technological barrier to entry and is available to you through the Marriott Library starting this fall!
